What Would Equality Look Like On Our Campus?

  • Affordable access to education and child care
  • Having a safe and secure place to live, whether on or off campus
  • Access to safe spaces, classes, and washrooms
  • Accessible resources to help all students succeed

To Promote An Equitable Campus, UMSU Opposes:

Racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, biophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and other forms of oppression that can affect how certain groups of people access post-secondary education and perpetuate inequities in society based on gender, race, socioeconomic status, (dis)ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, citizenship status and other factors (UMSU Position Statement Book, 2017).

Do You Know That

UMSU has several community groups that provide resources and safe spaces such as the Womyn’s Centre, the Rainbow Pride Mosaic, the Aboriginal Students’ Association, and the Accessibility Centre (located on the first floor of Helen Glass Centre)!
