UMFM Student Board Member – Volunteer Opportunity

UMFM is a not-for-profit organization which operates the on-campus radio station. The UMFM Board of Directors oversees the operation and all activities of UMFM. As a member of the Board of Directors you will be expected to attend Board meetings, provide input, vote on matters affecting the organization, and work as part of a team.

The Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring that UMFM upholds all requirements of its license, complying to all rules and regulations of Campus and Community Radio licensees as set forth by the CRTC, approving the budget of the organization, approve new policies for UMFM, create committees as needed to assist in its duties, and other various tasks.

The individual chosen to sit on the Board of Directors is expected to attend meetings and work with the Board to fulfill their mandate.

Applicants must be an undergraduate student who should have a passion for independent media and an admiration for the University of Manitoba. Due to requirements of not-for-profit organizations, the applicant must be a Canadian Citizen.
