2023 General Election

UMSU is holding their Annual General Election for 2023. Voting days will be on March 9th and 10th, 2023.

Voting will open online at umsu.simplyvoting.com on March 9, 2023 at 9:00 am CST and close on March 10, 2023 at 5:00 pm CST. 

The preliminary results will be available online at umsu.simplyvoting.com after voting closes on March 10th, 2023.

There are 13 available positions to be filled for the 2023 UMSU General Election. The duties of each position below can be reviewed in UMSU’s  Governance and Operations Manual

  • Vice President Student Life

  • Vice President Finance and Operations 

Community Representatives:

  • Indigenous Students’ Representative
  • International Students’ Representative
  • 2SLGBTQIA+ Students’ Representative
  • Women’s Community Representative
  • Accessibility Community Representative
  • Mature Students’ Representative
  • Black Students’ Representative
  • Racialized Students’ Representative

Voting will open online at umsu.simplyvoting.com on March 9, 2023 at 9:00 am CST and close on March 10, 2023 at 5:00 pm CST.

All forms regarding nomination and candidacy will be available for pickup from the office of the CRO at 116 Helen Glass from Monday – Friday, 9am-12pm.

Elections UMSU is the official non-partisan body that is responsible for organizing University of Manitoba Students’ Union Elections and Referenda including the upcoming General Election that will be held online on March 9th & March 10th, 2023.

SUBMISSION
After receiving a nomination package from the office of the CRO, go through the nomination checklist to ensure you have completed all of the requirements. Submit the completed nomination package along with the marked checklist directly to the office of the CRO beforeFriday, February 17, 5:00PM CST. Late submissions will NOT be accepted. 

ALL CANDIDATES’ MEETING After submission of completed packages,nominees must attend the All Candidates Meeting onFriday, February 17, 6:00PM CST that will be held in person in the UMSU Chambers, 176 Helen Glass. The next steps of the election process will be explained during this meeting. Please note that this meeting is mandatory for all candidates and campaign managers.
