A “State of well-being in which every individual realizes their own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to their community” (WHO, 2015). 1 in 5 individuals have a mental illness, but 5 in 5 have mental health.
What Is Self-Care?
Self-Care refers to actions that people initiate and perform on their own behalf in maintaining life, health, and well-being. Self-Care can take many different forms, such as journaling, exercising regularly, sleeping and eating well, taking a personal day, spending time with friends and loved ones, and any other activities that reduce stress and make you happy.
