Winnipeg, MB – On campus last Friday, September 13th, anti-choice group, Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform (CCRR), displayed highly graphic materials.
UMSU has recently been informed that CCBR intends to continue to be present on campus each Friday until October 25th from 1:00-2:30PM. Due to the Petty Trespass Act, at this time the University and UMSU are unable to remove the group from campus.
UMSU Vice-President Advocacy Sarah Bonner-Proulx stated that the “materials being displayed by CCBR, are not condoned by UMSU in any form and would not be permitted in UMSU space as per our Safe Environment Policy.”
UMSU President Jakob Sanderson added that, “UMSU empathizes with students who have been negatively impacted or re-traumatized by this imagery and encourage these students to seek support.”
For any additional questions, or if you require any additional support, please do not hesitate to contact UMSU.
