University of Manitoba Students’ Union (UMSU) is a non-profit organization which advocates on behalf of its memberships’ best interests to internal and external stakeholders. Marketing Assistant Term Position (May – Aug)
Reporting to the Marketing Manager the Incumbent will be task with a variety of duties such as, conducting market research and analyzing student surveys by compilingand providing summary reports. Assisting the marketing department in organizing campaigns and developing marketing strategies. Employ marketing analytic techniques to gather important information, for example: social media, web analytics, ranking etc. Compose content for UMSU’s online social media accounts.
Skills and Qualifications
•Undertaking daily admin tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination for the department’s activities;
•Must have excellent writing skills;
•Provide constructive feedback on developing marketing strategies;•Assist in organizing promotional presentations/events and attend to monitor success;
•Assist and provide feedback on marketing literature ( brochures, press releases etc);
•Submit ideas for experimental marketing programs designed to enhance and grow the organizations brand;
•Supporting marketing department by organizing various projects;
•Proof read and edit content for social media platforms;
•Be a resource for Executive team to complete large projects.
