WELCOME GUIDE

WELCOME GUIDE COPY WRITER

Contract Position

≤10 hours per week for 2 months

$15/hour

 

SUMMARY

Reporting to the VP Community Engagement, the Welcome Guide Copy Writer will be responsible for composing creative written content for the UMSU Welcome Guide, to be launched in January 2022. This task-based contract position requires the Copy Writer to work independently and in a team setting on projects that provide students with an engaging and comprehensive resource for navigating university life.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education, with a focus on written components
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to create written content on a professional creative platform
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must have a functioning personal computer and the ability to work remotely
  • Knowledge of the University of Manitoba and UMSU’s history, businesses, and services.

WELCOME GUIDE PHOTOGRAPHER

SUMMARY

Reporting to the VP Community Engagement, the Welcome Guide Photographer will be responsible for capturing and creating visual content for the UMSU Welcome Guide, to be launched in January 2022. This task-based contract position requires the Photographer to work independently and in a team setting on projects that provide students with an engaging and comprehensive resource for navigating university life.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education, with a focus on photography and digital art
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to create digital content on a professional creative platform
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Programs
  • Must have a functioning personal computer, camera, and the ability to work remotely and on-campus
  • Knowledge of the University of Manitoba and UMSU’s history, businesses, and services.
