Political Studies Film Club (PSFC)

The Political Studies Film Club is a student organization dedicated to celebrating the political power of film making. The Political Studies Film Club will host bi-monthly screenings of influential classic and contemporary political films followed by a discussion period. The club offers an invitation to both film enthusiasts and students interested in developing an appreciation for the art of film to become familiar with and expand their understanding of important political films, film makers, and film movements. The club presents a social opportunity for students to engage in dynamic, constructive and inclusive discussion with one another.

The films screened will address topics including -but not limited to – Cold War politics, Western imperialism, terrorism and political violence, gender and politics, and fascism. A wide range films will be available for screening, including foreign films, blockbuster films, cult films, and more.

The screening of films will be based on a vote by the members of the club. Suggestions for films by students and members of the club are encouraged!
The schedule of the club’s meetings will generally generally amenable the availability of its members, so as to remain as accessible as possible to the student body.
Any information regarding the content or topic of the films screened will be provided to members of the club – content warnings (CW) will be provided.
