UM EngiQueers aims to create visibility, space, and a community for queer engineering students at the University of Manitoba through social connection, advocacy, education, and professional development.
EngiQueers Canada is a national nonprofit organization that focuses on the inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community within engineering. There are approximately 28 University chapters in engineering schools across Canada.
We plan to hold events to build a queer community in engineering through board game nights (member-hosted or Across the Board!), movie nights, drag queen bingo, Pride events, wine nights, etc. In addition, we want to work towards a professional development events such as Queer Professional-Student Mentorship program, Speed Networking, Wine and Cheese, etc.
