The goal of UMWIC is to promote inclusivity and diversity in the field of chemistry through awareness, engagement and advocacy. We hope to promote inclusivity and diversity in chemistry by organizing special events, talks, and fundraisers in support of the group. UMWIC is open to any University of Manitoba graduate or undergraduate student within the field of chemistry or biochemistry who identifies as as minority within the field and/or is an ally to minorities within chemistry. The group also serves to create and present opportunities within the field of chemistry to its diverse members.
