The University of Manitoba World University Service of Canada Local Committee aids Student Refugee Program Scholars as they resettle in Canada as Permanent Residents to pursue post-secondary studies. Our committee provides social and financial support to Student Refugee Program Scholars throughout the duration of a two-year scholarship as they begin their studies at the University of Manitoba. UM WUSC members can provide support to SRP Scholars through social events, or can contribute to fundraising efforts and awareness campaigns that will be organized by the Events Team throughout the year. UM WUSC members will have opportunities to learn about the resettlement process in Canada, the refugee crisis, ethical consumption, and how to break barriers to women’s
education.
