The Youth Parliament of Manitoba (YPM) is one of the oldest model parliaments in the Commonwealth, having held sessions continuously since 1922.
Every year, YPM holds a model parliamentary session at the Manitoba Legislative Building. This event, called Winter Session, takes place during December 26-31. All Manitoban youth aged 16-20 are invited to sit as Members at Winter Session, where they will have the opportunity to engage in the political process while learning about societal issues that affect them, gaining confidence in public speaking through debate, and creating a network with like-minded youth from across the province.
