On January 7, a Ukrainian International Airlines flight heading from Tehran, Iran to Kyiv, Ukraine, crashed, tragically killing 176 passengers, 63 of which were Canadians.
It is with deep sympathy that we confirm that among those who lost their lives yesterday were University of Manitoba students and alumni.
The University of Manitoba Students’ Union is deeply saddened by this news and we express our sincere condolences to the families and friends who lost loved ones as a result of this tragedy. As we learn more details, we are grieving this devastating loss alongside the many affected by this horrible event and we encourage anyone affected by this tragedy to seek support during this time.
