The University of Manitoba Students’ Union is disappointed to hear of the recent decision by the government of Saudi Arabia to withdraw funding of students attending University on the King Abdullah Scholarship Program. We encourage the governments of Canada and Saudi Arabia to come to a diplomatic resolution that will allow the students to continue their studies without disruption.
Approximately 50 students enrolled at the University of Manitoba are anticipated to be directly impacted by this decision. The University of Manitoba Students’ Union will be working with the University on how to best support our students during this uncertain time.
